Xiaomi is reportedly developing new smartphone battery technologies, focusing on large-capacity batteries paired with fast charging solutions. According to leaks, the company is experimenting with batteries ranging from 5,500mAh to 7,500mAh. One notable combination under testing is a 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging, which could reach a full charge in just 63 minutes.
Another option being considered is a 7,000mAh battery paired with 120W charging, capable of fully charging in 49 minutes. Xiaomi is also exploring smaller batteries, such as a 5,500mAh unit with 120W fast charging, which could potentially charge fully in just 18 minutes.
Xiaomi’s competitors, including OnePlus and Oppo, are also rumored to be working on smartphones with larger batteries, further intensifying the race for higher energy density and faster charging technologies in the industry.
Most Xiaomi smartphones currently feature 5,000mAh batteries, but the company appears poised to push the boundaries of battery capacity and charging speed in its upcoming devices.
