The newly unveiled Xiaomi Smart Band 9 has already caught attention with its impressive features and unique design. Although it has only been a week since its debut in China, details about its upcoming global release are starting to surface.
Historically, Xiaomi has often released fitness trackers with limited features for international markets, but this time the situation might be different. According to insider Arsène Lupen, the Smart Band 9 may be available in various configurations, including different accessories. Notably, a new metallic strap featuring Xiaomi’s proprietary technology is introduced, integrating with the device rather than just attaching to it.
In terms of technical specifications, it appears there are no changes from the Chinese version. The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 is equipped with a 233 mAh battery, providing up to 21 days of battery life or 9 days with the always-on display (AOD) activated. The device features a 1.62-inch OLED display with a resolution of 192 x 490 pixels and a peak brightness of 1200 nits, making it one of the brightest in its category. The dimensions of the band are 46.53 x 21.63 x 10.95 mm, and it weighs 27.4 grams. It also boasts 5 ATM water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and other water sports.
However, insiders have not confirmed the presence of NFC, which could mean that Xiaomi has once again chosen to exclude this feature, as seen with the previous Smart Band 8. The global launch of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 is expected to take place in mid-August, with a recommended retail price of €39.99 in Europe.
