Elon Musk and Tesla have once again astonished the world with technological breakthroughs. At the recent “We, Robot” event, the company unveiled a range of products that Musk believes will radically transform our lives.
The highlight of the event was the introduction of the Cybercab, a fully autonomous electric vehicle without a steering wheel or pedals. Musk personally demonstrated its capabilities by driving it onto the stage. The Cybercab is built on a compact platform and features a futuristic design reminiscent of the Cybertruck. Notably, it lacks a rear windshield and has a unique door-opening mechanism.
According to Musk, the Cybercab will be priced under $30,000 and made accessible to the general public. Moreover, Tesla aims to make its operation so affordable that the cost of a ride will rival public transport. The company has already begun testing fully autonomous modes on Model 3 and Model Y in California and Texas.
In addition to the Cybercab, Tesla introduced the Robovan – an electric van capable of carrying up to 20 passengers or large loads.
Musk claims that the Robovan will further reduce travel costs thanks to its large capacity.
The event concluded with a demonstration of Tesla’s humanoid robots, Optimus. Over the past year, the company has made significant strides in their development. Musk announced that in the future, Optimus robots will be able to perform a wide range of tasks, from teaching children to household chores.
Tesla’s presentation highlighted the company’s ambitious plans to create fully autonomous transportation and robots capable of reshaping our lives. Musk envisions a future where people can own fleets of autonomous vehicles and earn money by using them in ridesharing services.
