In 2024, PlayStation celebrates its 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Sony has released a limited edition of PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, designed in a style reminiscent of the original PlayStation, which debuted in 1994. In addition to the consoles, other Sony products also received a special design treatment.
The collection, titled PlayStation 30th Anniversary, includes the upgraded PS5 Pro, the PS5 Digital Edition, the PS Portal remote play device, and the wireless DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers.
All products feature a gray color scheme, similar to the first PlayStation, and are adorned with the classic logo.
Features of the Anniversary Sets
Anniversary collection details The PS5 Pro will be available with a 2TB SSD and retro-themed accessories, including DualSense controllers, a charging station, and a cover for the disc drive, all in the same design. The package will also include a vertical stand and collectible items such as posters and stickers.
The PS5 Digital Edition will come with a 1TB SSD and a wireless DualSense controller, along with a disc drive cover and souvenir items. Both models will be released in limited quantities, with Sony producing just 12,300 PS5 Pro consoles in this retro design.

Dates and pricing Pre-orders for the collectible models will open on September 26, 2024, with official sales starting on November 21. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
Sony released the first PlayStation in December 1994, and it became one of the best-selling gaming systems of all time, with over 102 million units sold. PlayStation remains among the top 10 most popular consoles in gaming history.
Additionally, in September 2024, Sony announced the more powerful PlayStation 5 Pro for $700, which significantly outperforms the original PS5 released in 2020.
