Realme’s New 300W Fast-Charging Tech: Full Battery in 5 Minutes

Realme’s upcoming 300W charging technology promises to fully charge a battery in under five minutes.

The Realme GT 7 Pro is slated for an official launch in India. While the specific release date for the latest GT series smartphone has not yet been disclosed, a prominent Chinese leaker has hinted at some of its key features. According to this source, Realme is expected to introduce its groundbreaking 300W fast-charging technology at the GT 7 Pro launch event. This advanced charging system could potentially recharge a battery to full capacity in just around five minutes.

According to Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster on Weibo, the Realme GT 7 Pro is anticipated to feature an IP69 rating, ensuring robust dust and water resistance. The device is also expected to include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. In addition, Realme plans to unveil its 300W wired charging technology in tandem with the new GT series flagship.

In a June video interview, Realme’s Global Marketing Director Francis Wong confirmed that the company is actively testing this 300W charging technology. The rumors suggest that it could charge a battery from 0 to 50 percent in under three minutes and achieve a full charge in less than five minutes.

Currently, Realme’s fastest charging technology is 240W, available on the Realme GT Neo 5. This technology is capable of charging a 4,600mAh battery from 0 to 20 percent in just 80 seconds, from 0 to 50 percent in four minutes, and from 0 to 100 percent in under ten minutes.

Realme’s main competitor, Redmi, has also demonstrated 300W charging technology. In February of the previous year, a modified version of the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition showcased this capability, filling a 4,100mAh battery in less than five minutes. However, Redmi has not yet released a commercial device with 300W charging support.

Realme’s Vice President Chase Xu confirmed in May that the Realme GT 7 Pro will be launched in India, with a projected release in the fourth quarter of this year. This device might also debut as the first global phone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
