The website Videocardz has published insider information confirming the development and imminent release of new Intel Xeon processors for servers and workstations.
Intel is preparing to update its Sapphire Rapids W processor series, introducing new W3000 and W2000 models. These will be based on the same architecture but will feature an increased number of cores. The x500 series, including the W2500 and W3500 models, is also expected to debut soon. Some packaging for these processors has already appeared in the market, with photos surfacing online. This leak confirms that the processors are close to a mass release, as the physical products are already being shipped with specified SKUs.
The flagship model, Xeon W7-2495, is rumored to feature 26 cores, 56 threads, and a clock speed of up to 4.8 GHz. Information has also emerged about the current generation Xeon W7-3465X with 28 cores, and its successor, the W7-3565X, is expected to have 4 additional cores while maintaining the same clock speed.
The new models are also anticipated to have an increased thermal design power (TDP) of 335W, up from the current 300W. Although the exact release date is still unknown, Intel appears ready to launch the new processors at any moment.
