ASUS Unveils N97T-IM-A Thin mini-ITX Motherboard

ASUS has introduced the N97T-IM-A motherboard, designed for embedded and industrial applications. This board is built in the Thin mini-ITX format, allowing it to fit into compact, low-profile cases.

The N97T-IM-A utilizes Intel’s Alder Lake-N platform with an N97 chip featuring four cores, running at up to 3.6 GHz with a 12W thermal design power (TDP). It supports one SO-DIMM slot for DDR5-4800 memory, with a maximum capacity of 16 GB. Storage options include two SATA-3 ports and an M.2 Key-M slot for SSDs with either SATA 3.0 or PCIe x2 interfaces.

Measuring 170 × 170 mm, the board includes a dual-port 1GbE network controller based on the Realtek RTL8111H, a PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1 slot, an M.2 E-key 2230 slot (PCIe x1; USB 2.0; CNVI) for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapters, and a Realtek ALC897 audio codec.

Video output options are versatile, with HDMI 2.0 (up to 4096 × 2160 pixels at 60 Hz), DP++ 1.2 (up to 4096 × 2160 pixels at 60 Hz), LVDS (1920 × 1200 pixels at 60 Hz), DP++ 1.4 (up to 4096 × 2160 pixels at 60 Hz), and eDP (4096 × 2160 pixels at 60 Hz). The board also provides four RS232 serial ports.

The I/O panel includes two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two RJ-45 connectors for network cables, a 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI and DP connectors, and a power input (9–36V). It operates within a temperature range of 0 to +60 °C and features passive cooling with a large heatsink. The board is compatible with Windows 10, Windows IoT Enterprise, and Linux.
