Apple Maps now offers real-time transit information in Tokyo, Japan, giving users access to live details for over 20 railway, bus, and tram lines across the city, according to Apple.
With the latest update, Tokyo users can view comprehensive schedules, real-time departure and arrival times, and transfer options to plan their trips more effectively. Apple also provides crucial updates such as service interruptions and delays.
The new transit data in Apple Maps includes information from JR East, Tokyo Metro, and other providers through the ODPT (Open Data Public Transportation Council).
No update is needed to access the real-time transit features. Additionally, with the upcoming release of iOS 18 this fall, iPhone users throughout Japan will gain access to detailed topographic maps, featuring contour lines, shaded relief, and hiking trails.
